You want it all, so you work out intensely day after day after day. What does Tony Horton or Shaun T or Chalene know. You don’t need no stinking day off. But then, oops, you are a little tired and don’t feel like working out. You can’t get enough to eat during the day. You are a little (or a lot) irritable and your mood just isn’t so positive.
What’s happening? Your body is saying I need a break but your ego is saying go, go, go, harder, harder, harder. Who wins? Your body wins every time and you either break down and get sick because your immune system has been compromised, you get injured because your muscles, connective tissues and joints aren’t getting a break or you get so tired that you quit. So much for listening to the experts, let alone listening to your body.
