Obesity is not a hidden enemy. Sadly, however, most people don’t realize that it is our enemy. It is everyone’s enemy because it threatens our global society. I am thrilled to know that our team of Beachbody coaches is mobilizing against this enemy and that our teammates are providing ideas, resources and plans of attack.
Patricia found this video from ABC News, which is a great idea for us – Phone Calls May Help Shed Pounds. Recently I posted a blog – Will the Obese Inherit the Earth – and I know more of you are coming up with ideas and resources.
I ask that you please share them with the rest of the team so that Team Howtobefit will have more weapons to fight with and a national impact.

Okay, gotta respond on this one…because it’s something I’m passionate about, and I believe if I can pass this Mindset to others, it will be extremely valuable….
What happens when we fight?
Have you heard the phrase “what you resist, persists?â€
It might be a cliché, but it is absolutely true.
Think about Anti-War vs. Pro-Peace. Which has had a more positive affect in this world?
Consider Martin Luther King. What was he? He was pro-peace. Consider Malcolm X, he was anti-racism (or at least I think that’s what you would call it…either way, it was an “antiâ€).
What you focus on expands
Martin Luther King’s focus was on creating peace, harmony, unity. Malcolm X was fighting against a concept however, and through it creating more violence and chaos.
Imagine all the good, people like Dr. King have done in this world. Imagine people like Mother Theresa, or Ghandi, who took down an entire empire through his peaceful ways.
This concept of what we focus on expands can be held in all areas of our lives, including health and fitness. I recommend changing the focus of fighting obesity (an enemy), to the focus of achieving a dream in which the world is full of people who are healthy, feel amazing, happy, motivated, and inspired.
Fight for WHAT you want, not for what you DON’T want. Fighting AGAINST something brings about negative feelings within the body, which are toxic. Fighting FOR something that is positive brings about good feelings. This goes straight into the science of health as well, such as what chemicals are being released in the body in the midst of negative feelings, vs. positive feelings. It’s not just our bodies we need to take care of, but our minds as well, and what we focus on. If
Many people are so focused on the recession and how terrible it is, that it’s all they can think about…all they experience…Imagine the stress that’s causing their life.
How is it that there are people in this world who don’t have much at all, but yet are enjoying life so much? It’s because of what they’re focused on, and what they’re attractining in their life.
In the end, if you are striving for a dream that you are passionate about, that raises good feelings every time you think of it, you will enable yourself to be in a state of more creativity, and find more ways of creating your dream into a reality.
My encouragement is to move away from the concept of an enemy, and instead focus on the concept of a unified dream.
