This was the week I moved. Packing, carrying boxes, and unpacking kept me on my feet more than any workout, and my Polar watch noticed. By Friday night, I was in my new place with a new beginning. I now live 10 minutes from the Rio Grande River, and it is my absolute favorite place in Albuquerque.
On Sunday, I drove the two miles to the place where I wanted to start my run. The Duranes Trail took me along the river, and it was running higher and faster than I’ve ever seen it. After a hectic week, running by the river was exactly what I needed.
This Week’s Numbers (Polar Flow)
- Steps: 122,018 (about 17,400 a day)
- Calories: 19,215 (about 2,750 a day)
- Average sleep: 7 hours, 38 minutes
This week’s lesson: Busy weeks count even more, and moving doesn’t mean that you skip workouts. On the days you can’t get to a workout, keep moving through your day, and protect your sleep.
With the clocks back an hour, my evening walks are done until spring, so mornings it is. If you’re feeling the shorter days, read Seasonal Stress Disorder Is Here for six simple ways to get through the season.
