Running for Endurance
You fueled your body and worked to get fit and strong. Now you can go for it and build endurance. As a runner since September 1st, 1966, who now adds in hiking and walking as cross-training, I am going to share what has worked for me and all of the products that I use and want to use. You can visit my Running for a Lifetime Blog and Strava to see my training.
Footwear is a personal choice, but for the past 31 years, I have worn Asics. Here are the three shoes that I wear now.
Hydration Vests
I have used a number of Camelbak running vests and then I got the Ultimate Direction Scott Jurek. When I wore that out, I got the Scott Jurek 2.0. I aspire to get the UltrAspire Traverse someday!
Reservoirs & Flasks
I switched away from the Camelbak reservoirs back when they had a screw closure. The Hydrapak slide closure is, I think, much easier to use. I also use my soft flask every day, and often use my Amphipod hand-held, too.
Fuel
I must admit that I have come to depend on these products. Back in New Jersey, I didn't even carry water and just stopped at fountains or whatever I could find. Here in New Mexico, it is very dry and hydration is very important. I depend on Energize for during the workout energy and Tailwind for hydration and recovery. Thanks to getting the okay about combining Energize and Tailwind caffeinated, I even combined them and had a longer and better than usual test run.
Apparel
Brooks has very high-quality and functional apparel and that is why I chose to share various items of their apparel here. For me, they are aspirational since I still wear cotton t-shirts and the same favorite shorts that I have worn for years...
