Guiding You to Your Optimum Quality of Life

Why I Don’t Watch the News

With such horrific things as the shooting in Aurora, CO happening all too frequently, why shouldn’t I be glued to the TV to learn more?  That’s a good question when so much of everyone’s attention is focused on those events and all of the bad news in the world.  My answer is that we have to strive to help with our prayers and generosity but we cannot give any more “fame” to the lunatics in the world to lessen the likelihood that other lunatics will seek fame in the same way with even more horrific acts.

On January 12, 2010, the Haiti earthquake devastated the lives of millions of Haitians and the world stopped.  It was an act of nature and the poorest of the poor needed everything we had to give.  In my case, I had won a trip to Hawaii as one of the top Team Beachbody coaches and given the sadness that prevailed, I simply didn’t feel good about going with my family when so many people were suffering.  Instead, I asked Team Beachbody to donate the value of the trip to the relief fund that they had set up and they gladly agreed.  I gave to help make the world a better place.

The families in Colorado are experiencing deep grief and our prayers will help them immensely but no amount of money will ever bring back their loved ones or rebuild their lives after the devastation that one man wrought.  They will go on in their own time and when they can and we can never forget them.

So what can we do?  We need to work tirelessly to make the world a better place.  We need to work tirelessly to rebuild our economy and help our own bottom lines, that of businesses and corporation and most of all, reduce our national debt.  No, I have not focused on this man made tragedy because the shooter, in this case, deserves no attention, no TV time and no notoriety.  Our nation needs to mourn with the victims and their families but we can’t just throw our hands up and say why bother in a world that has become so wretched.

Now we know that our theaters are going to need tight security and better preventative measures to keep this from happening again.  It was a terrorist act by a US citizen and we learned a terrible lesson.  More security costs money and a strong and effective work force focused on national security and increasing personal wealth will allow us to pay for those costs without putting it on our “national credit card”.

In my case, I don’t have time to watch TV.  There is too much good still happening in the world and I want that good to increase abundantly.  Instead, I work tirelessly as a Team Beachbody coach using health and fitness to make the world a better place one person at a time.  Healthier people, happier people, more effective people who are empowered themselves to make a difference.

If you want to learn more about what I do, I invite you to join me on Facebook and visit my Team Beachbody coach profile.  I have made a career out of changing people’s lives and it has become my ministry.
