Guiding You to Your Optimum Quality of Life

Feeling Fit at 40 and Beyond!

Fitness and nutrition have a huge impact on how old you look and feel.  I truly believe that age is just a number, and you can become fit and healthy at any age.  I just celebrated another birthday yesterday, and I am now the young age of….41!   I feel better than I ever would have imagined after finding the right combination of effective exercise and diet. Committed to a healthy lifestyle, I now have more energy, patience, focus, happiness, strength, coordination, flexibility and more.   I never thought food and exercise could have such a profound effect on my body and mind. The benefits exceed all my expectations, and now eating right and exercising are essential for my well-being.   My accomplishments were attained through daily dedication, planning, smart eating, lots of sweat, and patience for results.   It wasn’t easy, but it sure is worth it! I’ve found what works, and I’m now dedicated to sharing with people first hand how nutrition and fitness greatly improve many areas of your life!

Everyone would like to feel and look great, but an inner desire and commitment is needed. What’s your motivation for getting and staying fit? Having a long-term goal with a purpose for working out and eating healthy will help you commit.  Losing weight is a common goal many people have in mind when they begin a lifestyle change. However, considering all the benefits of exercise such as improved health, increased happiness,   and living a better life will keep you going.   I’m motivated by the ability to enjoy a happier, less-stressed life with more energy, and better abled to take on physical and emotional challenges. I love keeping up with my kids and their activities, and being an active role model.   When I changed my diet and exercise routine, the difference in my activity level,   my increased energy and mood were well noticeable. My children often comment on how much more fun and happy I am now! That makes it all worth the effort. My family and I go out for long bike rides, walks that sometimes turn into races, play basketball, baseball, do yoga, workout to home fitness programs, kickbox,   and dance.   No need for much rest anymore…I’m up for any challenge. When you do more, you get more out of life!

Maintaining a solid regular workout program with a set time is routine in our house. We schedule our fitness time including strength, flexibility and cardio training 4-5 mornings a week.   Our favorite home fitness programs are Beachbody’s P90X, TurboFire, RevAbs, Brazil Butt Lift and coming soon, Insanity. Knowing that age causes us to start losing muscle mass and bone density, my husband and I are doing our best to fight back.

My daily “must haves” help in keeping my body healthy. I consume lots of water throughout the day and don’t drink soda, even diet. Applying moisturizer, lip balm and sunscreen nourishes my skin, along with my favorite daily supplement, Shakeology.   Drinking Shakeology regularly greatly contributes to our health containing 70 whole food superior nutrients such as fruits, vegetables, fiber, protein, omega 3s, digestive enzymes, probiotics, phytonutrients, antioxidants and much more. Post workout, I drink P90X Results and Recovery Formula to help replenish nutrients lost, reduce muscle soreness and assist in repairing and building lean muscle.

Being mindful to what my body needs is essential. Some days after many high intense workouts, I’ll treat myself to a long yoga workout and feel rejuvenated and re-energized when I’m finished.   Getting enough sleep is very important, and sleep needs and patterns often change as we age.  I’ll try my best to maintain the same bedtime and wakeup time making sure the room is cool and dark, and limit caffeine consumption, especially from late afternoon into evening. Many times, we don’t produce enough melatonin at an older age.   Taking the all natural herb melatonin helps me relax before bed, and I’ve also found the more active I am during the day, the easier it is for me to sleep at night. Often times, when our bodies our dehydrated or have a lack of sleep, we have more hunger cravings.  When this happens, I try to drink a glass of water and catch up on needed rest.

Embrace the body you’ve been given, take care of it, and it will love you back! You’re never too old to get in shape and feel great. Exercise and good nutrition will help retain your youthfulness! I’m thrilled with how I feel and my fitness level at the age of 41. Eat smart including 5 small meals each day, maintain a positive mental attitude, find effective fitness activities you enjoy, have patience, commit, don’t give up, focus on your goals and get it done! Be the best YOU possible, and you will improve in so many ways one day at a time.   www.beachbodycoach.com/fitwithmolly
