Place a cushion or folded blanket under your knees for support, if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Tuck your toes and sit back on your heels. Slide your left knee back if you need more of a stretch.<\/li>\n<li>Keeping both hips level, sweep your arms toward the ceiling, and lift your chest. Try to sink your hips deeper toward your front heel.<\/li>\n<li>Hold for 60 seconds before switching sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openfit.com\/pigeon-pose-yoga-kapotasana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pigeon pose<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-122389\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.prod.openfit.com\/uploads\/2019\/05\/09181711\/pigeon-pose-yoga-stretch.jpg\" alt=\"Pigeon Pose - kapotasana\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Like the low lunge, pigeon pose stretches the hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, and glutes. \u201cBut there\u2019s no strengthening in this move, it\u2019s more of an active stretch that\u2019s good for reducing back pain,\u201d Fuller says.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From downward dog, bend your right knee and bring it behind your right wrist.<\/li>\n<li>Slide your right ankle toward your left wrist, so your right shin crosses your mat at a comfortable angle.<\/li>\n<li>Slowly lower your hips to the floor, keeping them level throughout the stretch. The top of your left foot should be flat on the floor.<\/li>\n<li>Once you\u2019ve found your ideal position, walk your hands forward to fold your upper body over your front leg.<\/li>\n<li>Hold for 60 seconds before switching sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>5. Supine twist<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bod-blog-assets.prod.cd.beachbodyondemand.com\/bod-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20155436\/Yoga-for-runners.600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-149175\" src=\"https:\/\/bod-blog-assets.prod.cd.beachbodyondemand.com\/bod-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20155436\/Yoga-for-runners.600.jpg\" alt=\"Woman doing supine twist\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This pose stretches the back, glutes, core, and outer hips. \u201cIt also creates space through the spine, which is great for low back discomfort,\u201d Fuller says.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lie flat on your back with your legs extended, and open your arms into a \u201cT.\u201d Hug your knees in toward your chest.<\/li>\n<li>Keeping both shoulders on the floor, lower your knees toward the floor to your right. Slowly turn your head to the left.<\/li>\n<li>Breathe slowly in and out and hold for 60 seconds. Switch sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>6.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openfit.com\/how-to-do-tree-pose-in-yoga-vrksasana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tree pose<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/1634697872\/SJeKARb7p_default\/index.html?videoId=5998946397001\" width=\"600\" height=\"337.5\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This standing pose strengthens the ankles, feet, and shin muscles, while building balance and focus.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stand tall with your big toes touching, heels slightly apart. Shift your weight onto your left foot, and raise your right knee.<\/li>\n<li>Open your right knee out to your right and place the sole of your right foot against the inside of your left calf or thigh. (Don\u2019t place your foot against your knee.)<\/li>\n<li>Keep your left knee supple as you balance. When you\u2019re ready, bring your hands together in front of your heart, overhead, or straight out to your sides.<\/li>\n<li>Balance for 60 seconds, then switch legs and repeat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>7.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openfit.com\/trikonasana-triangle-pose-yoga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Triangle pose<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/1634697872\/SJeKARb7p_default\/index.html?videoId=5998948733001\" width=\"600\" height=\"337.5\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This pose links together everything you\u2019ve done so far: stretching the legs, hips, and ankles, while strengthening the legs, abs, and back, and practicing balance, Fuller says.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stand tall with your big toes touching, heels slightly apart.<\/li>\n<li>Step your left foot back 3 to 4 feet, planting your left foot at a 45-degree angle, with your right toes pointed toward the top of your mat.<\/li>\n<li>Rotate your torso to your left, extending your arms to form a \u201cT.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Straighten both legs and hinge at your hip to shift your torso over your right leg without bending at your waist.<\/li>\n<li>Touch your right hand to the floor or a block, and reach your left hand toward the ceiling, letting your gaze follow.<\/li>\n<li>Breathe slowly in and out.
