Shield your skin from the sun<\/h2>\n<p>Even if it\u2019s cloudy, you can get a sunburn. Don\u2019t go it alone<\/h2>\n<p>Whenever possible, ride, run, or hike with other people instead of alone. Skip the headphones for safety<\/h2>\n<p>Music can be motivating, but it can also distract you. Plan your route<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re heading into the great outdoors, always have a specific hiking plan in mind \u2014 and keep a map with you in case you get lost. Don\u2019t rely on only your phone; you may end up in an area with limited cell coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Conrad suggests choosing a hiking area you\u2019re familiar with and going with a friend.<\/p>\n<p>If you do go hiking alone, let a friend or family member know where you\u2019re going. Make sure to bring a light backpack or fanny pack filled with water, sunscreen, snacks, and a form of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadid.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I.D. with emergency contact information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>11. Dress in layers<\/h2>\n<p>When it comes to outdoor workouts, there\u2019s no bad weather, only bad clothes.
