I don&#8217;t drink, ever.  \u00a0You may wonder then why I commented in a post in Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s &#8220;A Year of Running&#8221; group on New Year&#8217;s Day that I was going to try to run 1,000 miles in 2018.  \u00a0Frankly, I don&#8217;t know why because it didn&#8217;t seem like a big deal when I wrote it.  \u00a0Years ago, I would run 3 times that many miles in a year.  \u00a0Now I am faced with a stark reality &#8211; it&#8217;s not going to be hard to do!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4370\" src=\"http:\/\/howtobefit.com\/coach-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/1000-in-2018.png\" alt=\"Run 1,000 Miles in 2018\" width=\"124\" height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To compound matters, I saw a challenge in Strava to &#8220;Run 1,000 Miles in 2018&#8221;.  \u00a0The challenge originates in London, so why it isn&#8217;t in kilometers, I don&#8217;t know.  \u00a0If it was a 1,000 kilometer challenge, it would be so much easier, but it&#8217;s not.<\/p>\n<p>The people who started the challenge broke the challenge down and seeing what I have to do is what is causing me to lose sleep (not really).<\/p>\n<p>2.74 miles per day<br \/>\n19.23 miles per week<br \/>\n83.33 miles per month<\/p>\n<p>At the time that I am writing this, there are 25,170 members and trust me, I&#8217;m not on the leaderboard of the top 100 and will never be, but that doesn&#8217;t mean that I&#8217;m not going to try to reach the goal.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s embarrassing that I have to work hard to run 20 miles a week, but so what.  \u00a0At my age, I&#8217;m just thankful to be alive and running.<\/p>\n<p>So to be accountable, I am including two widgets from Strava.  \u00a0One is daily workouts and the other is total activity.  \u00a0Note that these don&#8217;t include my strength workouts or yoga &#8211;
