"Sweatworking" Together
I
read an article in the New York Times this morning about
people who are in client services who find that all of the "schmoozing can take
a physical toll. All those drinks, dinners and parties mean little time to hit
the gym." Some of them are starting to say, "why not mix work with working
out?"
The article, by Courtney Rubin, goes on
to say that, 'You can manage to get a dinner on the calendar with a guy
maybe once a quarter, but you can meet him once a week for a workout,' Mike
Wassong a trader at Euro Brokers said. Golf, he added, 'takes too much time.'
Attribute it to shrinking expense budgets or expanding waistlines, but
combining networking and working out (call it sweatworking) is a
hit among health-conscious professionals seeking a wholesome new way to bond
with clients and colleagues."
It just occurred
to me that by working out in the SuperGym and getting together in groups on
Facebook, what we are really doing is "sweatworking" together as health
conscious inviduals finding a whole new way to connect and grow both personally
and in terms of our health.
I want to make this a special time of
the year for all of us as Team Beachbody members by joining together in a
united cause to make a difference in our own lives. I know that this is a very
busy time of year right now, but after all of the holidays, it is a time to
reflect and connect and prepare for the New Year.
I am very active in the
SuperGym and on Facebook and use both to spread the message of the physical and
financial freedom that I would like all of us to have in the years to come. Why not join me before the New
Year in a SuperGym workout. Join me in one or both of my Facebook groups. Every
day, we are sharing information, resources and tools to help you achieve your
health and fitness goals. Together we are better and working out in the
SuperGym and connecting on Facebook are ways that we can "sweatwork"
together.

The Flight or Fight Response - Stress
And Weight Gain
Millions of years ago, our cavemen ancestors needed to react
swiftly to any perceived threat. This flight or fight response was
designed to provide quick energy for 5-10 minutes, enabling our forefathers and
mothers to either do battle or run. If you have been experiencing stress from
doing battle in the mall or deciding to run from your oh so long to-do-list,
this article may be just what you need.

She Does, He Doesn't
You've made a commitment that will
change your life. Your spouse has not. You've sworn off junk food and you
workout six days a week. Your unsupportive husband sits on the couch with the
remote, taunting you with bonbons and insisting reruns of "Baywatch" should
have priority over your Power Half Hour. Here's some good advice on what to
do... Continued
A Social Network Christmas
This weekend, I saw a
video that I had seen last year entitled, "A Social
Network Christmas". If you are a Christian, it is both poignant and
humorous given all of the events leading up to the birth of Jesus. I just
thought that I would share it with you. |
