Call Me Crazy!

On Friday night before I got glued to the TV watching the Olympics, we took the girls swimming on $ .25 night at a local high school pool. We had a blast and I ended up doing walking laps (it is between 3 – 4 ft. deep) with Grace on my back and pulling Carly in her tube and racing another parent. That was the fun part. Then I realized how debilitating my back pain is because it really hurt trying to get out of the pool with no ladders. That was the impetus I needed to start doing another round of P90X and doing it as a hybrid with running. Running has been like breathing for me and I can manage the pain when I run, but I need the variety of workouts that P90X offers, including Yoga X, to either lessen or eliminate my back pain and give my more flexibility. I’ve already scheduled in all of my workouts for the week so there is no going back!

So if a 61 year old with debilitating back pain can start another round of P90X, what’s your excuse not to? What is it, that you are watching the Olympics and can’t start until after? Or that you are doing P90X2 or that you aren’t in shape to do P90X? Most of you certainly can’t use the excuse that you are too old because most people are younger than me.

Here’s an excuse buster. I am going to make this a Tony Horton Challenge and it doesn’t matter if you are doing P90X, Power 90, Tony & the Folks or any Tony Horton workout in between. Lets just do it and have the fun and camaraderie that comes with it! I will post my workouts in the P90X blog and in the Team TOPSTONE Facebook group.

Sunday, I did P90X Ab Ripper X with my iPhone app and yesterday morning I did Chest & Back. Today I stuck to my P90X/running hybrid schedule and ran for almost 40:00.

So who is up for the challenge? Tomorrow is August 1st and that is a great day to start The Beachbody Challenge. By the end of October, if you are doing a 90 day program, you will be in such awesome shape that when the holidays come, you won't even think about eating badly, screwing up and putting on weight and body fat. I am entering The Beachbody Challenge and I want you to join me. It won't be an easy journey, but it sure will be a whole lot easier if we are on it together!
